Snoopy Punk

Snoopy Punk is a bold, black-and-white illustration that re-imagines iconic cartoon characters through the lens of punk culture and vintage television nostalgia. Created in Illustrator by piecing together different illustrations, then carved into a linoleum block to use for print works ranging from wall art to clothing. Incorporating the “Punk” aesthetic creates a rebellious and edgy quality creating a stark contrast with the wholesome and familiar feel that the Peanuts cartoon emulate. The vintage television further places the viewer in the past and into a “Punk” mindset with the unconventional shapes and lines that make up the television. Though created digitally, the piece simulates the traditional lino cut method: thick, uneven lines, high-contrast composition. Every element was designed to emphasize imperfections and texture.
